The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) staged a demonstration on Friday to condemn US attack on the shrine of Hazrat Ali (RA), killing innocent Iraqi people and raids and arrests of religious leaders in Pakistan.

The demonstration was held outside Binori town mosque after Friday prayers as part of the Protest Day. Addressing the demonstrators, Senator Professor Ghafoor Ahmed termed the US as international terrorist and a great threat to humanity, human rights and the world peace.

He said the US intelligence agencies themselves had reported that Muslims were not involved in 9/11 incident but the US government attacked on Afghanistan and later targeted the people of Iraq where the US tanks had surrounded the tomb of Hazrat Ali.

Allama Hassan Turabi, Dr Merajul Huda and other leaders also spoke. The demonstrators, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans against US. Heavy police force were deployed, however no untoward incident took place and the demonstrators dispersed peacefully.
